The biggest problem is both Sanford and Avera have their own health insurance companies and no other options for most people. They have created the ultimate monopoly. They in turn get to negotiate with themselves all the while not being transparent with the consumer about the real cost of care!

Health care industry probably wastes more money on six figure administrators than any other industry and that is saying a lot. Talked to a Sanford Dr one time who said there was 6 levels of administrators between them and the CEO! That was many years ago so can only imagine what it is by now.

The healthcare systems, insurance companies and our government have arguably the greatest money laundering threesome going on in history!

Making statues of yourself says a lot about your character.

Tax-exempt can be appropriate. Too often anymore it's used to enrich a few at the public's expense. Your attempt to follow the money will likely prove that.

Blessings to you and those involved with the effort.

My wife and I pay over $1600 per month for health insurance that is essentially worthless. Sanford would not even honor a request for blood work by our NP. I had to go elsewhere to get it fulfilled. And, yes, I find the Sanford employees to be arrogant and obnoxious. I have determined that our premiums are basically a wealth transfer scheme. Stealing money from us to be used to treat deadbeats

I was told by a Sanford employee the other day that “People think that Sanford makes a lot of money but we do not” Yeah…right 🙄

Right on brother. Life is a complex mosaic. We can walk and chew gum. We can like green and blue. Somehow the culture of the leftist radicals has infected way too many people. We need more philosophy lessons for the masses. The Bible makes more sense every day.

Thank you for the DOGE accountability & transparency thoughts Christ; I think between the Massie and Sowell quotes you nailed it. They seem to pay no price for waste and abuse - and fraudulent spending.

I attended the prison reset meeting and was blown away at how much $$ has been spent thus far on a location - upwards beyond 50 million - that may never come to fruition. How many businesses or households could behave this way? Tip: can you check the status of the $10.5 million the City of of Lennox has deposited from DOC for a wastewater treatment sewer line? It's all public record but needs transparency and sunshine to see if these funds will be returned if the prison project doesn't go through there? Just a note on the credit card Citibank history; when Wild Bill brought them into SD the 1st order of business was to repeal the usury laws in place, which the Legislature fast tracked to get done.

We can do better and be better. Hope you have good success on shining the DOGE light for accountability.

Sioux Falls' 'hero' is a pedo who loan-sharked his way to wealth, and when the South Dakota AG investigations started gaining traction, that same AG ended up in a vehicular homicide case and lost his law license - AND meanwhile the local news publication that was also researching Sanford had its Legal Notices accounts with the City of Sioux Falls awarded to a startup news agency.

That's an impressive pile of rot for a small-town/wannabe big town, Sioux Falls; keep this up and someday you will become even more scandalous than your idol to the east!

What is "healthcare"? To get you well or to get you sick and keep you sick? Sanford incessantly markets a "well check". Why? Does someone in the marketing department know that a person of x age should be one y number of pills? If they can just get you into the office and convince you to start a pill regimen, will they not only make money on the office visits, but the revenue for the side effects the pills cause? Something else?
